Bailey in a nut shell!

Bailey has a telescope in her science room(you can't have a science room without one)She doesn't use it as much as I thought she would but hopefully in the warmer weather we will take it to the country and get some good use out of it..I think I (accidentally) taught her how to spy on people..There are not many stars in the city but a lot of open windows!! oops!!

Bailey is a very analytical, sensitive, sentimental girl who treasures many things especially from mommy and daddy..She keeps pictures, notes and cards, teddy bears, sweaters and anything else that reminds her of her family members and friends..She sleeps with the teddy bear that I grew up sleeping with, a sock monkey that i made,a doll from Jamaica from our honeymoon and usually has a sweater of mine somewhere in her bed..She is NOT a tidy kid like most but you wouldn't really be able to tell because I usually clean her room even after she cleans it..
She has a magnetic strip where she can put her special pictures and notes on and there is always a clutter of stuff up there that she can see and feel special about. To me it is important that she feels good about her work.

Dave and Bailey write notes to each other and they are very sweet! I think in this one Dave is telling her about a girl he had a crush on when he was her age..

Bailey is a scientist in training. Her Microscope is one of her favorite things and she knows how to use it like a pro..On her globe she has put push pins on the places her family members have been or lived.
For Christmas Bailey got some hermit crabs..She was very excited about them and took good care of them for a while..When the first one died she cried pretty hard and the one after she sulked for a few minutes after that she was fascinated with their dead little bodies in the shells..
They are all dead now and only the shells are left..she could care less!!

I love love dressing my girls and Bailey has reached an age where she is getting picky about her clothes.I try to go shopping alone than I can buy her what I want..She always likes what I buy her when she sees the clothes but if she went with me and saw the peace sign shirts and the really bright coloured clothes she would have a different opinion..I think she just likes having a say in what she wears and I am still getting use to that idea..I do keep in mind what she likes and my choices are based on that for the most part. I do let her dress herself sometimes and as long as she has a nice collection of attire she can't go wrong..

Bailey has a pen pal.. oh wait as of Friday she now has two..I am also trying to get her one from Mamalodi South Africa..She loves writing letters and it keeps her in touch with her friends from her old school in Burlington also it is a great way for her to work on her printing.
In Bailey's room she has lots of things from different parts of the world..With a family that travels to third worlds and have a love for helping support people in poverty she really doesn't have a choice..She loves it though and I think she will jump on the band wagon too someday. This doll is from Congo

Bailey loves loves loves to read which I am so happy about because I never have been able to like reading no matter how hard I have tried..She whips through books..The other day I came up stairs and found her sitting on the floor surrounded by books and she was going from one to the other reading them all!

To add a couple other things..
Bailey is an awesome kid and has never really given us any kind of problems.
She is a very very sweet girl and has such a kind, generous soul.
She gets a little territorial over her things and can be a bit bossy to other kids.
She loves being the center of attention. Dave and I always think about putting her in acting and think she would be perfect for a movie or show however we both agree we don't really want to introduce her to that lifestyle.
She is an amazing sister..The other day she was crying and saying "I just love Marlee so much"
She is a crazy deep thinker and the other day we were walking home from school and she asked me if she has life insurance?? That's kinda a weird question for a six yr old to ask..
She likes routine..For some reason lately she has been making me do laundry on Fridays and I don't really know why but she reminds me on Thursday and asks me when I pick her up from school on Friday if I did the laundry..
